Shallows, Virtual Reception at TAG Gallery

Rediscover the beauty of our coastal waters with sculptor Justin Prough’s Shallows. Inspired by the spiraling shells, alien bones, and sea-weathered driftwood collected with his children along the world’s beaches, the artist creates a potential future that considers a shared ecology between man and mollusk. New Exhibitions: Spectrum, Shallows, Deep, Terra, & Wild

Douglas Teiger

Spectrum

April 13 - May 8

"This journey we call the human experience plays out within a spectrum of energies and colors. The spectrum just is, but as humans, we have defined and polarized it, creating the concept of opposites. These man-made constructs have caused separation between ourselves and Spirit as well as amongst one another. There is a benefit to opposites in that one appreciates joy, health, success, beauty, enthusiasm after experiencing sadness, sickness, ugliness, boredom, etc. A spectrum does not exist as opposite ends of a line but forms a circle that ties humanity together. Love is what holds it all, no matter what."

Justin Prough

Shallows

April 13 - May 8

"My assemblages—made of seashore debris—are imagined future seascapes and whimsical, biomechanical structures.”

"Through my work, I dream of a future where we once again live in harmony with nature."

Sküt

Deep

April 13 - May 8

"The ocean covers 71 percent of Earth’s surface and is home to millions of marine species ranging from microscopic bacteria to massive fauna, many of which are on the brink of extinction."

"I created an immersive art experience to celebrate fauna of the deep by reimagining my favorite wet friends via abstract design, extrasensory dimension, and childlike imagination."
