Artist Statement

My art is based on the best achievements of the past centuries. My artistic method is organically connected with the achievements of outstanding artists such as Fernand Léger, Matisse, Paul Cézanne and Picasso.  I am interested in the “luchism” of the avant-garde artist Larionov, as well as the experience of many other innovative artists of the early 20th century.

The painting “Egyptian Queen with a Shark”, intuitively created by me in the distant 1993, reflected the emergence of a new era of social-communication through the internet network.

I create freely in the artistic flow of metamodernism and develop my own style, which I call “Lines of Force”. Such lines harmonize with the modern physical theory of strings, according to which they are the force that shapes the universe. I explore how these lines can shape the space of my canvas.  To better express the meaning of the painting, these lines can be modified: vibrating in waves of different frequencies like strings, spiraling or remaining straight.  I also find a connection between the way I create harmonious compositions and the divine symmetry of fractals, which are a reflection of the mathematical basis of the universe. I often combine the abstract and the figurative, the fictional and the real in my work. Creating such compositions is a fascinating game for me. For this reason, my works, whether plein air or sketches, are impulsive and are often independent works of art that do not need to be finalized in the studio.

My creativity is based on the rich experience of my personal life and various hobbies, my desire to share my worldview. I try to improve my skills, find new forms of embodiment of ideas arising in the subconscious, reevaluate them to determine the strategy of their realization. I like to try different approaches and experiment with different mediums, but I always stay true to the basic idea of my art.
