David Stewart Klein presents his third solo exhibition: “A Beautiful Chaos” at Tag Gallery. This body of work looks carefully at the difficulty, pain, carelessness, and ultimately the reassessment of values which were strengthen by his experiences over the COVID-19 pandemic. Featured is all new work made over the course of the pandemic; powerful and striking portraiture, and personal narratives created as a time capsule to document this globally and interpersonally challenging time period.
About the Artist: David Stewart Klein’s work has been the need to express something strong, volatile, fragile, and fleeting. To him that can be the intimacy and vulnerability of a portrait, an argument from a couple, the silence between figures, the strength of an individual standing or the fluidity in motion.
Klein takes his subject and amplifies the compositional space with what is being represented, almost as a fragment of his mind and the people that inhabit the world around him.
