BIO:

Karen Woodward Sarrow is a painter. She primarily uses acrylics, but is experimenting with fossil free paints, and enjoys ink drawing. Sarrow is the 2018-2019 President at TAG Gallery.

Sarrow's show in January 2018, entitled FEM, addressed resistance to the government on fossil fuel expansion, and for social justice.  Sarrow coordinated a Single Payer Healthcare event in June 2017 to help bring awareness to #SB562 in California, along with Courage Campaign and Healthy California. She is a member of Women For Women and Children with Valley Community Health, and a new board member on the Sherman Oaks Foundation.

Sarrow was born in England and grew up and went to college in Missouri, in small communities near the Mississippi River.  She studied art history at The Ohio State University, and worked at the Columbus Central Library, then served as image manager in the Art History department at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. In 2003 she graduated from Pratt Institute with an MFA in painting. She and her family recently moved back to LA from over two years in Tenafly, New Jersey, where she ran a graphic design business, and provided set paintings for the short film "Steps," written by Stacey Van Gorder. Karen and Jonathan have two school-aged children.
