Brian Reed was born in Northern Canada and experienced the northern lights first hand. Those lights were his first real introduction to color. Otherwise the landscape was one of flat prairies and wind and snow driven landscapes that offered little for the imagination. Brian’s grandfather was a Norwegian landscape painter and was the other early influence on Brian’s decision to pursue painting. It wasn’t until he moved to South Florida that he discovered the intensity of color and light. It opened new worlds for him. Since then Brian has travelled the world from the Orient to the Middle East, gathering influences along the way. Settling in Southern California, Brian has actively pursued painting with the help and guidance of Vibul Wonprasat, a Buddist and accomplished artist living in Venice. Mr. Wonprasat, classically trained in Europe, has had exhibitions at the Louvre in Paris as well as across America. His works hang in many private collections around the world. Brian Reed currently lives in Marina del Rey, California.
